Animal Groups


There are words used to describe a collection or a group of a single type of animal that are together dyuring any given period of time. We've all heard of a "swarm of bees" or a "school of fish." But did you know that a group of toads is known as a "knot of toads?" Here are a few more interesting ones!



  • Drove of butterflies

  • Gale of whales

  • Bale of turtles

  • Band of gorillas

  • Crash of rhinoceri

  • Gaggle of geese

  • Gang of elk

  • Yoke of oxen

  • Watch of nightingales

  • Mob of kangaroos

  • Bed of oysters

  • Pack of wolves

  • Pride of lions
