Shake 'em Baby! Shake 'em!

Pom Pom Crab, Lybia tessellata, is a curiously comical little guy. Lybia tessellata is native to the Hawaiian islands and frequently carries small anemones in each claw, hence the "Pom Pom."
There are at least two purposes for carrying the anemones. The first is a simple matter of defense. The crab will taunt would-be predators by shaking the anemones in hopes of stinging the invader into retreat. Secondly, the crab also sweeps the substrate with its pom poms to gather uneaten food, thus creating a symbiotic relationship between the Pom Pom Crab and its pom poms. The anemones undoubtedly benefit from this sweeping by getting to eat its share of the treasure. The Pom Pom crab is also commonly refered to as the Boxer Crab, and it is a hardy creature that grows to about an inch in length.
